Sewing up -
All pieces of the garment are steam blocked
or wet blocked and then hand sewn, with all ends sewn in. Blankets -
Strips and squares are steam blocked and
then hand sewn, with all ends sewn in. Buttons Bands -
Knitting is steam blocked, then bands are hand knitted, with all ends sewn in. Fair Isle and Intarsia -
All loose ends are secured and sewn in. Socks -
Kitchener stitch grafting on toes, with all
ends sewn in. Blocking and pinning -
Shawls and blankets are wet blocked and pinned
out until dry, with all ends sewn in. Fabric backing -
Knitting is steam blocked, then fabric is
attached with hand sewing, and all ends are contained or sewn in. |
